Chavous Scholarship Fund

Established by 19-year-old Clark Chavous in 2021 during her first semester as a student at Fayetteville State University. Governor Roy Cooper established the NC COVID-19 Vaccine Lottery in the summer of 2021 to encourage residents to get vaccinated to slow the spread of COVID-19, and Clark was one of four North Carolinians to receive $1 million as part of the lottery. Clark donated a significant portion of her winnings to The Winston-Salem Foundation to support multiple causes including this scholarship fund.
